SiteSnap (“we”, “us”) is a construction inspection product for invited organizations. This policy explains what we collect when you use the SiteSnap website, dashboard, and mobile app at sitesnap.app.
Who this applies to
SiteSnap is a business-to-business service. An organization admin creates most accounts. You use SiteSnap as a member of that organization. The organization is the controller of inspection records on its projects. SiteSnap processes that data to provide the product.
Data we collect
- Account. Name, email address, role, organization, optional profile photo, and password (stored by our auth provider, hashed — we do not keep a readable password).
- Inspection content. Photos of sites and defects, remarks, categories, severity, pins on drawings, and status history.
- Location. GPS coordinates when you tag a finding or otherwise allow location on the phone. We use this to place the finding on a map, not to track you in the background.
- Device and session. Auth tokens on the device (Keychain / Android Keystore), app version, and basic request logs needed to run the API.
- Offline copies. The mobile app may keep inspection data in a local database on the phone until it syncs.
- Support email. Messages you send to support@sitesnap.app.
How we use it
We use this data to run inspections, generate reports, assign and close findings, send transactional email (welcome, password reset, report delivery), and keep the service secure. We do not sell personal data. We do not use your inspection photos for advertising.
Optional AI (SiteSnap Pro)
If your organization has SiteSnap Pro, finding photos and related text may be sent to our AI provider (currently OpenRouter) to suggest category, severity, or a draft description. The inspector or manager remains responsible for what is saved. Do not enable Pro on data your organization is not allowed to process with a subprocessor.
Where it is stored
Application data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL, Auth, and file storage). The API runs on Railway. Email is sent through our email provider. Servers may be located outside your country.
How long we keep it
Organization records stay until the organization is closed or you ask us to delete them as described below. If you delete your own account, we remove your login and personal identifiers. Inspection photos, findings, and reports stay with the project so the organization keeps its audit trail.
Your choices
- You can change your display name and password in the dashboard profile.
- You can turn email notifications off in dashboard settings.
- You can delete your SiteSnap account in the mobile app (Settings) or on the dashboard (Profile). That signs you out and removes your login. The last active organization admin cannot delete themselves until another admin is appointed, or the organization is closed through support@sitesnap.app.
- An organization admin can deactivate another member. That stops login but does not erase project history.
Permissions on the phone
The app asks for camera, photo library, and location only to capture and tag inspection findings. You can refuse those permissions; some capture features will not work.
Children
SiteSnap is for adult construction professionals. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
